Just got the Nik collection and this is my first attempt at using it. (RAW processed in aperture 3, NR with Define 2, B&W with silver effects 2 and a couple control points, no sharpening)

So C&C...what did I do right? What did I do wrong? What should I do differently next time?

Oh come on...70 views and no one has any criticism?

Well damn looks like I should just start selling prints of this since it's that good! ;)

Only thing I can say about this image is I like high contrast B&W.

I think I'd rather see color, at least for roses.
You might try increasing your DOF a bit and moving the focal plane back just a bit. Only the closest rose has anything in sharp focus.
The adjacent blooms only part way in the picture don't do a whole lot for me; I think I'd rather see the blooms in the picture with nothing distracting around it, or enough around it to be a background.
I do like the stage of opening those roses are in, but the one on the right seems more attractive to me.
I think you could try a lighter background and crank up the contrast a bit more. Some sharpening might be nice too, but don't sharpen it so much the transition between sharp and slightly OOF is abrupt.

I think the contrast is a bit low. The black looks dark grey, it would adjusted the levels to darken the black I think the picture would really pop.
