I'm upgrading from a 40D. I mostly shoot baseball and football. I'm leaning towards the 60D or 7D, what do you think?

There was no technical difficulty generating these images with a Canon 60D. As with other competent and capable camera bodies, the only challenge was to make sure the camera and lens were pointed at the action when it happened, and the shutter button was pushed at the correct time.

Main differences are that 7D has faster fps and handles low-light a lot better which certainly helps for sports where you need the fast shutter speed and light ma be low (floodlights, indoor, etc.).

Oct 15, 2011 08:38 | #8 Thanks for the suggestions. It isn't that the 40D isn't doing the job it's that my 40D won't turn on. At this point I am not sure what the problem is. I am going to send it to Canon but it's my only camera and I don't want to be without one so I am going to get a new one and get the 40D fixed and keep it as a backup. I'm really leaning toward the 7D. 7D / 40D / 70-200mm 2.8L / Tamron 28-75mm 2.8 / 50mm 1.8 / Canon 85mm F/1.8 / kenko 1.4 / 580ex

I've used my 7D at ISO 12,800 and had perfectly usable shots. I wouldn't want to leave my camera there all the time, but it's nice to have the option.

The 7D leans more to the 1D Mark series the control buttons on the 7D are more programmable, you have more a 19 point focus points on the 7D vs 9 on the 60D, 100% view finder coverage, the frame rate is higher on the 7D 8 fps vs 60D 5.3 fps A great photo only starts with the shutter release,
