Small Backpack for skiing and motocross

Hello everyone. I'm looking for a backpack to wear while skiing, and also when riding off road. I just need to be able to hold my camera, batteries, and a couple lenses. I also need something that can get wet and dirty without me having to worry, and also something that is at least a little protective. Any suggestions? Thanks

The Kata line has several that are excellent and hug your body like no other one available. I cannot say enough about my R102.

Try the Lowepro Micro Trekker 100.

If you check out Lowepro, you might want to look at the Slingshot 100. It's a sling-type that will let you get to the camera without taking the pack off. It also has a waterproof cover. Read this - there are a number pictures of the 200 (larger) model:

I just purchased a Canon 200EG and I think its a great bag. Canon "says" that it is waterproof, it has some padding in it and is versatile. I'm not tooooo fond of the way it fits, not too ergonomic, but for $36 I can't complain. Great big, lots of space, padding, and supposively waterproof as well. Check it out, they are selling on eBay and Amazon for $35ish.

Thanks everyone. Thosse Kata bags look really nice. Where did you get yours? They only have one US distributor listed on their website. About the sling type bags, I don't know how much I trust that if I'm on a rough trail on my bike. Any other suggestions?

I didn't see it mentioned, but I'd be more concerned about having an "accident" while doing said activities than what the bag could withstand.

That said, I'd score a vote for the lowepro slinger style. The larger of the two, the SlingShot 200 AW is pretty secure, and the part that isn't exactly clear in the photos is the additional strap that you can secure to sort of make a 3-point harness setup. It still gives pretty good quick access to the gear, without having to fully remove the bag.

I've thought about accidents, but I've been doing both activities with a video camera for a while now, I just go a little easier. However, I have been considering getting some form of hard case, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get anything small enough to fit what I need.

any heavily padded bag form a reputable camera bag manufacturer should protect your gear pretty well. crumpler also sells over-padded (in my opinion) bags.
