Greetings I have a Pelican 1610 case which I am going to use to check camera equipment including some heavy lenses (300 2.8, 70-200 2.8, two Mark IV bodies plus a few other lenses and flashes) and I was about to buy the replacement foam set from Pelican but I was wondering if the padded divider set would be a better choice? Does the padded divider set provide as much cushioning an protection as the foam? I am sure it is more durable.
Any opinions on this would be greatly appreciated

Ultimately, the foam provides a bit more protection, as it fits tighter around the gear and doesn't allow it to move. From a practical standpoint, the dividers are a whole lot more versatile, they last longer and still provide a decent level of protection. If you need maximum protection....then foam is the ticket....if you need practical, then the dividers win hands down.

Is anyone concerned with dust from the foam?

I have the dividers on the 1654, I think if you coupled the dividers with these https://photography-on-the.net …hp?p=11063529&postcount=1 I would think the dividers would rule over the foam...
I carry my lighting equipment on the pelican so I don't mind the dividers, but for my camera equipment I would be a bit concered about bouncing since the dividders specially the "box" where you put them in isn't that padded so the stuff in the link works that out...
