My first try at a pretty cool sunrise. Was shooting my wife running a half-marathon in Newport, RI yesterday (10/16/2011), and saw the sky and figured I give it a shot. Please let me know what I need to do better, and if these are ok. The only post I did was some sharpening. Thanks!!

The first has a nice contrast of the cold grayness of the dawn shadows and the warmth and fire of the sun behind the clouds.

Very Nice. Where about in Newport were these taken? I have been to Newport many times but I can't recognize this place. Is it along the ocean drive?

Easton's Beach. Just down the hill from the Tennis Hall Of Fame.

Thanks. I didn't really see how dark it was until I got them on my computer. And being that I am a relative novice when it comes to post, I wasn't sure how to make it lighter without blowing out the sky. If you, or anyone else, have any tips I'm all ears...
