Hey everyone,

Just wondering. What's the easiest way to get screen grabs off of 5d Mark II footage? Thank you!

Hmm, pause in your video editing/playing software. Some software has "capture" functions built-in, but if not you just have to do a standard screen grab...

I have used the VLC media player with some success provided you use a decent ISO and fast enough shutter speed etc.

That looks like a good thread!

It's been several years since I had a camera with video, so I don't know what all is out there anymore:)!

import the footage into final cut pro. go to the frame you want, export to quicktime conversion. select stills from drop down menu and choose .jpg, .png, .tiff etc.

I usually never take real long clips so I have had success with the importing video frames to layers option in photoshop.

This...

Premiere <-> Photoshop

Pass "filmstrips" seamlessly.

Back when I did Video Editing the editor software had a feature for grabbing stills.

It was a button that looked like a still camera, click the mouse on it and grab the still.

It wasn't even and expensive program but I do not recall the name of the program but it was put out by PINNACLE.

DV Studio Pro might be the name.

I liked the program because at the time I was not knowledgeable about editing and it was easy to create impressive short films.

As time went on I learned about it's shortcomings and began to feel I needed a program I could not justify spending money on! :lol:
