My god. Why does this exist? and how could someone possibly think it's a good idea?

Wow... They don't even give you decent cameras...

Premium 5.3 megapixels Polaroid digital cameras with large 2.5" screens and instructions attached so that friends and family can easily take high quality wedding photos and videos.

POLAROID Digital Cameras are GARBAGE! I can't imagine how far back in time they had to go to find 5.3mp cameras! ???

Heh! Pretty funny, but I imagine they have a market, although so many people have digicams these days it would probably be aimed at those wanting more than just a rental cam.

I could see this working to some degree. I think it would be a great idea for a couple to do this in addition to the hired photographer as long as the two don't clash. This is not a great deal different than those weddings that have disposable cameras at the wedding for guests to use and then give them to the couple.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

I was thinking about that for a second... then I was thinking about if I was the paid photog for the wedding, and all of the guests that didn't have cameras already were provided with cameras... it sounds like an absolute nightmare to me.

Intrusive family members with cameras are bad enough, but if they somehow felt enabled and empowered by the bride and groom to be part of the process it would be unbearable.

At least the shots on the homepage arent professional shots "taken" with a P&S camera.

but just think... you can get great images like these: (all linked from their smugmug that they link to as a sample gallery..)

Really... the links below speak for themselves... I wonder if this website is really operated by a professional wedding photog as an example of why couples *should* hire a professional.

It's obviously aimed towared couples who can't afford a "professional". And seriously, there are tons of people like that getting married. So, if this business can appeal to them to pony up some money, well, it has less to do with comparing them to professionals and more to do with whether their service as a whole is "value" compared to Uncle Joe running around with a P&S.
