On September 3rd I got the honour to attend and photograph my cousin Mattias wedding. The wedding was on held the shores of this amazing little island called Finnhamn in the outer parts of the Stockholm coastline.

Since I shot this wedding, my respect for wedding photographers grew quite a bit. This isn't childs play, but it sure is fun!

I used my Nikon D700 and 35mm 1.4g or 85mm f1.4g, I hope it is okay to post even if i shoot with a Nikon, since this is the most inspirational photography forum I've come across sofar.

A couple of frames.

Nice set, I really like the first photo a lot. Though some are against it, I really like the style of blowing out the background if it means exposing the subjects properly. I prefer it over fill flash personally, and think it adds a nice dreamy feel without having to use that horrid soft focus effect.

And don't worry about not having a Canon. I had a picture published in the first volume of the POTN book a couple years ago that was taken with a Pentax, and I made it clear that it was. I feel this is by far the best photography forum on the web regardless of it's Canon roots.

Thanks for the compliments!

It was a really sunny afternoon and i didn't really get along with the harsh sunlight, I'm really glad that we found that little road with trees giving some shadow.

#3 is great, primarily because it has the most even light but the bokeh is beautiful as well!

It is a good time for people who are romantic or like to party long time. However, that is not a very pleasant experience for the ones who want to have a good rest.

@Praemunitus - Thanks!

@Alston - That's so true, the last frames were taken 4:30 am, it was not quite so easy to get up for breakfast before 10am :)

I wear glasses most of the time, I didn't think people wore their spectacles and opt for contact lenses instead on their wedding day. i find the glasses somewhat distracting and out of place in these photos.

besides that, they're great shots.

bjrn: nice shots

I agreed with "Icontact" but some people just simply cant deal with contact lenses and i am one of them. I put my contact lens on for my own wedding and studio session...and i wasnt myself

Not having a Canon is unacceptable :twisted::twisted::twisted:

Finnhamn is nice though.

I actually find the glasses quite refreshing. I mean we see loads of people changing their appearances for their weddings, but in all reality she probably wears glasses on a daily basis. I would rather remember myself as myself than to see myself without my glasses that I, and my loved ones had come accustomed to seeing me wear.

Well done on the set. As long as everyone had a great time then the day was not wasted.
