If the specs are correct, it is a step backwards in some respects. 5D MKIII | 24-105mm f/4 L| 50mm f/1.8 | 600EX-RT [FONT=Tahoma][COLOR=blue][FONT="]|

But can you see someone trying to walk around with an Ethernwt cable hanging from the body?

For one thing, an Ethernet interface is rather large compared to mini USB or HDMI unless they use a dongle like those old PCMCIA Ethernet adapters for laptops about 15 years ago. Maybe they mean wifi instead.

Fricks wrote in post #13264547 No it will be around $8000 Why such a price hike? It'll be $5999.99. Switching from aps-h to 35mm sensor does not add $2000+ to a camera! It's not Canon's flagship model, a 1Ds4 will be $8500. Gregg.Siam wrote in post #13264572 With APS-H being discontinued and the 1D lines being merged, I would have hoped the 1Ds III would be a starting point. If the specs are correct, it is a step backwards in some respects. This is not a merging of the 1-series (no the 1D series since here is the 1D and the 1Ds). Wait for a high pixel count 1Ds4 next year. They might try to spin this as something more than it is (a 1D5) to get pros to buy this and then also get them to buy the 1Ds3 replacement (high pixel count) next year. Similar to how Nikon brought out the D3H (calling it the D3) and then the d3x a year later.
