why would you go from from 1d mkiv to 1dx

Yes I will be looking for a 2nd hand MK IV next year. Hopefully a mint low click model for £2800 ($4500).

If you need the very best low light IQ and lowlight AF performance it'll probably be the camera to get.
If you're often reach limited (or need f8 af) it may be a poor choice.
DSLR technology is mature enough for any improvements to be incremental IMO. Of course it'll be the camera that many Canon Ambassadors have been dreaming of, at least until the next pro camera launch approaches.
