Just want to say BIG THANK YOU to those who recommend PhotoRec (external link), a freeware that works magic!
I came home 2 days ago from a vacation with weveral GBs of photos. However, about 20% thru copying the .cr2 from one of the 2Gb Kingston CFs suddenly my laptop reported back the card is now empty :o. Plugging and unplugging multiple times still no luck. That's puzzling. I inserted the CF back to the camera, it now said "No Image". Bad sign. I started to panic. I did a quick search on POTN, got a dozen recommendation. I picked PhotoRec and WALA, all .cr2 recovered. Happy ending. Thanks again guys! ;)
