I just bought a store display 7d.Idk if this is a bug or Im missing something.I went through all the menu.I set the dials correcting in custom settings.the only time the round dial works with aperture is when I go in quick control and put it on f-stop and I spin it.I tried switching the dials and made the round dial into shutter speed and it still didn't work.I really like the camera. Can someone please help.Should I return it?

Do you have the Lock switch set in the "off" position, lined up with the white line on the back?

Theres only 2 positions. on and off. on is lined up unless your lock is faulty.

When I first got mine I had to scratch my head and re-read the manual several times.

In fact, I had it out re-reading some items yesterday.

The 7D is very far from a P & S, but it is a sweet machine.

For the first few months after I got mine, when it didn't work "right", I always assumed it was me and not the camera. Spent a fair bit of time searching for settings and answers. It likely helped me understand it better in the long run. Frustrating at times though ;)

I was scared that mine was broken when I first got it too. I couldnt change mine from auto all focus points. I thought it was broken... then, I couldnt get 8fps. I was getting about 3fps, and then I realized it slows down in low light.
