I have an S90 and am considering getting a G12. I like the greater zoom range and the HD video ability. I also like a little more heft in a camera and the S90 is a bit petite for my liking. A question for current G12 users - is the little "wheel" on the rear feel terribly loose like on the S90? I'm often accidently spinning it to another position. Thanks.

I do not notice that issue with my G12.

There was a fix for the S90--I'm not an owner, so I didn't keep a link. It was an "O" ring that shielded the control ring.
I had an ergonomic issue with my G11. I kept pushing unwanted buttons on the back of the camera, with my thumb when I grasped the camera. The G12 has a Canon "fix". Don't have one, so don't know if it would work for me.
I stuck a round bumper to the back of the G11 where my thumb should have been. The style you buy in hardware stores to put on cupboard doors to keep them from banging. Worked well for me.

Point is that the G11 had ergonomic issues, as the S90 did. Canon listened to owners and made changes with the G12 and S95. And aftermarket vendors did too. IIRC the business that sells Richard Franiec's grips, rings and camera modifiers also sold the ring that I spoke of...

Hope that helps you if you decide to keep the S90. It's a great camera; wish I owned one.
