You can still do star trails which when PP right makes for great imaging . Being up in Pa. you have better chances of Auroras than being way down south in Texas .

I've done quite a bit of night shooting, but never saw one...how do I go about finding/getting a shot of them? That would be pretty exciting!

That would be pretty exciting! Sorry , I should explain more . There are times when Sunflares are so strong that many times in the past Auroras have been seen at lower altitudes as far down as Texas but most times it may only reach the bordering states to Canada . Being you are in Pa. , that's close enough that your chances of seeing auroras in your state are very strong when Sunflares are strong . Here's one link to read but you can google other postings about Auroras in Pennsylvania .

If the sun is flaring, the further North you are the better for seeing an Aurora 6D x 2 | TM SP 35mm ƒ1.4 | 50mm ƒ1.8 | 85mm ƒ1.8 | 24-105mm ƒ4L USM | 135mm ƒ2L | 200mm ƒ2.8L II | 17-40mm ƒ4L | Sy 24mm ƒ1.4 | Sy XP 14mm ƒ2.4 Flickr
