Jimmyz0rz, I think what happened is you missed the Milky Way. In the wider shot you took(I assume at the same time) M7 is in the far left of the frame. The moon was half full on the 8th at about the time you took these and to the left of the frame, about in the middle of the Milky Way. I assume you framed to just miss the moon. The moon would have made getting the Milky Way almost impossible anyway. Try again on a moonless night and get Stellarium or something to help you get your bearings and time down and I think you will have some luck. Just my guess. Steve
