Thank you :)

Yep was pretty dark out there, but once your eyes adjust it's all good. I could almost see all the rocks in the lake to walk on as the water is so clear! It was a risk, but one that has paid off very well as a few of the photos from that night have won awards – shortlisted in the Sony World Photography Awards as well out of 280,000+ entries.

That one was a single exposure, 15 seconds, ƒ3.5 and 10,000 ISO. Was meant to be 20 seconds but somehow I accidentally changed it lol.

You can see more shots from that shoot here: https://www.flickr.com …/albums/72157653794793098 (external link)

Big Bend Sotol Vista Pano

Nearly Dawn, thus the blue.

6D and Sigma 35mm Art at 1.4, probably 12 seconds each, 8 or 10 shots.

^^ Great shot, I've set myself a challenge this year to get a milky way shot and would be happy if I came away with something like this. That light patch bottom left draws my eye quite a bit, would you consider cropping to remove it?

Now that you pointed it out it's bothering me haha. It was the first time I tried taking 50+ exposures; pretty much 180 degree left to right and spanning above me but ended up using only about a dozen. Microsoft ICE makes it a breeze to stitch and allows you to adjust the image shape the way you want (if you haven't used the software that is).

First night out with the 14mm 2.8. Think a prefer the 24mm 1.4, but i'm not too disappointed.

You continually post night images year round-are you always up late on the weekends or do you just have a large stock of photos that you are processing?

A bit of both really, I have so many photos that I haven't released yet, and when I haven't been shooting a while I go through the old stuff :)

The reason I ask is id
love to take more Astro shots but the opportunity is so limited-wait for no moon, then hope there is no cloud, then pray there is nothing insuring the day that you need to stay awake for lol

It's hard yakka! But you seem to manage a constant stream!

I feel your pain. New moon tonight and its 100% cloud and heavy rain here

I play with light painting and have a couple I like, but I honestly think I prefer silhouettes - takes me back to what the night really looked like when I was there.

I agree with the silhouette idea. More realistic.
Nice stuff here everyone.
