I'll get the ball rolling again. I posted one from Yellowstone about a week ago. Here are a couple more. As I stated earlier, I don't do a lot of Milky Way stuff, but it was fun to play around with it.

1. Taken on Dunraven Pass. There weren't many options for the foreground.

2. Old Faithful. The Moon was up that evening.

Thank you for getting us on the right track again..

Love the 2nd one with Old Faithful! That is dynamite!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have never seen a night time shot of Old Faithful before :-)

Both images are really cool -- but the "old faithful" image is cool .. and a bit more unique. I guess it was nice that someone happened to be on the other side trying to do "light painting" on it -- the exposure looks great.

I've just added photo printing to my business in Auckland with the new Epson D700 Mini Lab. Looking at a wide format Epson next week too, but the little D700 produces the most amazing prints and can do panoramics.

I've started printing my milky way shots on metallic paper and they look just awesome

It's a pretty good composite, for the sky portion I'd bring up the shadows (or not apply so much contrast during post-processing) a tad so the light falloff from the core to the corners isn't quite so much, this way you won't clip stars in the background (and it will look a bit more natural with a normal light gradient at the horizon).

Also taken up in Yosemite earlier in the evening. The red lights are car tail lights. These were first & last times I ever attempted to shoot the Milky Way.....
