First astro for the season last night. Had to remove a couple of frames as Mr Musk's satellite train passed over us.

Sony A7iii with Batis 18mm. 150 x 30 second shots @ f2.8.

Thank you very much. It was a really cool spot.

Down here in New Zealand, we were put on Covid 19 shut down today. All businesses not deemed essential have to close for 4 weeks. I'm hoping to get some astro in over this period.

Attempted this last year but the tide was high so was not able to get close to the rock; perfect conditions this time around

Nice captures ! Looks like you had a great horizon for taking these images ?!

First time using Sequator and it was easy and really helped with the noise. 6 stacked images. Zeiss 25mm f2

Quite happy with the amount of Milky Way detail I was able to extract from Bortle 4 light pollution

I'd say you nailed it! Never tried it but hope to capture my first Milky Way shot sometime this year.

Agreed, awesome shot

I started with a decent horizon then went bad fast, you can really see the clouds on the horizon they came in fast and obscured things. The moon was full that night so I had about an hour and a half. The portrait shot between the tents was a first attempt at stacking to help reduce noise,. I had to scrape most of the frames do to clouds, and after getting back learned I needed to do a few other steps to help reduce the noise.

Thanks guys! The bright lights on the horizon from the large cruise ship and boats made it harder to pull out the Milky Way core so would definitely like to try again without them there; also I would attempt to compose a little differently too to make the rock look even more like the dolphin leaping out of the water.

I have a pc and use the free download Sequator which is easy to use and works well. Can't beat the cost!
