yeah, try iso 1250 at f4. You can try this method any night, don't need the milky way and look at the results Play around with the iso and time. Could even try longer.

Are you on a full frame or crop camera?

Good point re trying at night even without the MW to practice getting the foreground right. I use a crop sensor 7D Mark II (with a Rokinon 10mm F2.8 lens for night images).

The sunflowers I have grown follow the sun until the are teenagr plants. At that point they start to stay facing easy for the rest of their life.

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I guess they start out getting the earliest light they can get and then, like us, get a bit stiff as they age and settle into their preferred direction. :-)
