The d300s I have doesn't hang right using the strap lug on the side of the camera, with whatever BR strap I have. So I'm back using the tripod mount. Camera is easy to use; mine has a grip on it. Camera is easy to use; mine has a grip on it. I went back to a Domke gripper strap. Used those for over 20 years. But I have new habits having used a sling strap for going on a year. I really like the comfort and convenience using the BR strap. I check the connection on my grip and the strap every time I use the camera. Just a habit; loose--no electrical power/no shot. I don't like the buckle on my back. You're right about that. Couple of cable ties and it doesn't work any more. I looked at the little sling sold for P&S cameras. Comes with a purse. I mean a case. Here in Canada it's almost $60! plus 13% tax. SnappR? May check and see what OpTech has available for my NEX-5. BR still sells the old connector--don't like it at all. That's what is available here at Henry's; maybe Vistek. The new connector is better made if it's properly installed by the user. If not, it falls out. I'm using their SnapR (review Canon :: R5 | R6 | RP
