I am in the process of selling 85L for a 35L
And I am using 5D.

That is because I am a portraitist. I don't want distortion with a 24mm.

I prefer the 35L because I don't like the distortion at 24mm for what it's worth.

Between the two FL, on FF it would be 35mm. 24mm is a bit too wide for "everything". In fact, I think I might prefer 50mm

haha on your phone in traffic... tisk tisk.. I wonder how many accidents are caused by POTN ;) (Been there) Hope the links I provided help with your decision though. You can't go wrong with either one but again, I prefer the 35L for portraits.

well traffic is going about 0-5mph so low risk..haha...

im 99% going 24L, as I like the distortion when shooting photos for metal bands . But as with any 1500+ purchase its always good to be thourough

24 + 50 work well together. 35 is more practical.

Not the same distance but this gives you an idea of distortion. First was the 24L on my 5dii

On a 5D, I'll take the 35mm. On a 7D/60D give me the 24mm. Of course, this is for my shooting style. If you like WIDE, then the 24mm is the obvious choice. Otherwise, the 35mm is a more usefull focal length.

I have both. And I prefer a 35mm. It get's more use and it is easier to frame people without getting in their face. 24mm is a bit on the wide side.
