haha yeah me being the youngest, I was not even given new toys except for a few, all my bros (4 of them) toys were passed on to me... the problem is most of them are well in bad shape  I had to make do with whatever they left me to play with:lol:

as far as I can remember I only ask for one thing every single day when I was young... a slice of Mocha cake at around 3-4pm hahahaha and well toys like cardboard masks or something

Mocha cake! Yum!

Jake is a 15 yr old kid, who has accomplished much as a photographer. He seems focused in pursuing his photographic craft and aiming to get the best gear is laudable. He can ask his parents for the 1Dx because he knows they can afford it, but he has his truck as his priority now..Maybe he can ask for the 1Dx next year or when he graduates HS in 3 years.
Jake the 1Dx maybe the best Canon today but we do not know yet what the 5D3 will offer, I am waiting for that camera.

Cheers,
Tony

Tony, you should get the 1D X. Most of the retired guys on POTN shoot a 1D. :)

Many times I like the small size of the 5D without the grip specially when I travel or attach the camera to the telescope, so if I get the 1Dx, I will keep the 5D2 for travel and astrophotography, but if 5D3 has 30 megapixel, then it will be the 5D3. The 7D goes to son or granddaughter.

Cheers,
Tony
