I need some help from you guys! I'm trying to find a tutorial or information on how to remove a background from an image and make it totally black.

I'm doing a series of portraits that I want to have totally black backgrounds, however I am shooting in a confined space and can't get the models far enough from the background that I can make it go to black in camera.

Anyone have any reads I should be looking into or advice on how to do this?

Two other tutorials that might help a bit:

Make sure to get the background as close to black as possible "in camera". That will save you a lot of time in PP and produce a better result.

Thanks guys! I ended up finding a way to mask the background using find edges, refine edge, and layer masks. I worked perfectly!

Now I just need to find a better way to mask the background around hair.
