I'm torn because I kinda like the expression but the position of his hand and shoulder is really bugging me. All comments and critique welcome

Did you remove the background?

I agree with your assesment- his expression is good but his shoulder and hand are in an awkward position. You did great with the eyes, WOW, but I can't get over how strange the image looks because of his shoulder. You should have had him open his shoulder up a bit.

No, shot on Black

I know even though its strange I keep coming back to it... LOL

You should have had him open his shoulder up a bit.

He is high energy and does not really take instruction. I got lucky to catch this expression.
Thanks for the comments

I was so taken by his face I didn't even notice his shoulder and hand until I read your comments.

I think it looks good, it's just his expression from the moment, it just seems like he was a little shy from the way his arm is covering his chest as if he's protecting himself.

I like it... his hand on his shoulder doesn't bother me at all.

"Featureless" as in no detail?

It's a more feminine and vulnerable pose than you normally see with boys but he's 4! It does seem sad though

I think it's a great photograph. The hand may not be optimum, but it certainly doesn't ruin the image. I like the expression quite a lot, too.

Correct! I see very little detail in that crop, but, it's only a comment/opinion. If the shot works for you, that's all that really counts.

No, I appreciate the opinion, but I did not do anything to the skin and can see every hair/fine pore. Of course kids have very smooth skin. Are you suggesting adding texture to improve the look of his skin?

Nope, not suggesting that. maybe the detail doesn't come through because the xposure is on the lighter side.

WOW! Looks great. Agree with JStryker; I was completely focused on his face & didn't even notice the awkward hand position. Doesn't ruin the picture at all for me, not even close!
