WOW! Looks great. Agree with JStryker; I was completely focused on his face & didn't even notice the awkward hand position. Doesn't ruin the picture at all for me, not even close!

Thanks, I've really grown to like it.

I don't like the shoulder placement because of the crop of the photo...the head is cropped to much at the top and it make the shoulder become more of a center point of focus. The shoulder keeps drawing my eye because of it's placement in the photo.

Thanks for the opinion on the crop. The eyes are the focal point of the image and crop them using the rule of 3rds. They would look odd if they were places some where else in the image, Right?

If that were the case then all close head shots would have the top of the head chopped off.

you can still have the "rule of 3rds" with the head intact.

in using the rule of thirds the shoulder is a major part of the photo when it should only be a small part and the head and eyes should be the major part. I think having a full head shot would make your eye not focus so much on the shoulder.

anyway...my opinion....others say they don't even notice the shoulder until pointed out...so to each their own..

Nothing wrong with crop part of the head IMO.
Some very good headshot photographers do it all the time. Not out of the ordinary at all. Of course this shot is a little uncommon. LOL
This was not a posed shot... Just something about it I like.
Appreciate your input and hope others will keep giving feedback.
