Racers from around the U.S. and the world pay for the privilege of racing through Midwestern mud, forests and cornfields in the Ironman race sanctioned by Grand National Cross Country. Spectators pay for the privilege of gathering at the race's hill climbs, grabbing riders who slide to a stop in the mud and pulling them to the top.

Very nice, I like them all.

He's a politician. It's like being a hooker. You can't be one unless you can pretend to like people while you're screwing them.

Thanks for the compliments.

For those who dislike needing to stand behind fences and walls, who want to get as close to the racers as possible and want to see spectacular action, the Ironman is the race to photograph. The only limits are your courage in getting close to speeding vehicles and your ability to climb steep hills in the woods.
