Playing with Backgrounds as Textures

Went out yesterday to shoot some background images for use as textures (grass, weathered boards, asphalt, clouds, bricks, etc.). I had my daughter with me, who always loves to be photographed. So of course I practiced my background ideas on images of her...

I didn't have anyone with me, and no lights, so I shot ambient and upped the fill in LR. Not technically the best portraits. I'm looking for opinions/suggestions regarding the background specifically, not so much on the main photograph of her.

I like the original better. Cute little girl.

I like number one too. I do like the texture in the back on the fence, road and foilage beyond. Perhaps a radial blending from the girl outward?

Thanks, Jak - I agree completely. And I actually did soften the effect over her (obviously) and the pathway. Quite a lot...

I really like the effect in general, but I totally see how it distracts from her (which is not good, clearly). Definitely need to work on the process.

The input is much appreciated, all.
