Hi everyone -

My wife and I were blessed with a baby girl, Addison (Addie) Mae in September so this landscape photographer has been scrambling to learn the ropes for shooting and processing images of people. How am I doing so far?

Thanks!

First congratulation on such a beautiful baby, wish her a long life filled with happiness and health and you two, many many years to enjoy her happy life.

I really like number 2 and 4, classic elegant baby shots
Number 1 the wide angle does no work for me
Number 3 too many toys in the way rest importance on her, Id crop closer her face or shoot a little closer, also the rule of 3ds should be apply IMO, her face is dead center and for portrait Id choose to place her eye crossing one of the 4 points of the rule of 3rds in this case the left upper point of the frame, the color is a bit off IMO

these are all really nice, I am being picky but just letting you know my opinion
Try the little feet shot in B&W see if you like it

Beautiful shots. Congrats on the beautiful baby! BTW, I used to live in the Duluth/Superior area.

Thank you everyone! ManiZ - its a great place to live, I dont see myself ever wanting to leave. Although, I'd like to have a place outside of town some day.

Borism - Appreciate the detailed critiques. The color is definitely stylized, I added a layer in black and white, then changed the layer type to luminosity. However, I see your points on all counts.

I actually have a black and white version of the foot - I like it better, but my wife prefers the color.

.

I also have another version of one of the above, but I think I prefer the one I first posted:

I agree. It is a beautiful place. BTW, in college, I used to work at the Hermantown Wal-Mart so chances are we've crossed paths at some point.

I grew up in another part of the world and Duluth was my first taste of "Americana". For that reason alone, it will always hold a special place in my heart. Most of all, I miss the mid-western people. They are simple, honest, and hardworking.

Sorry for going entirely OT; "meeting" someone from the Twin Ports is rare for me.
