I totally bought in to the Control TL system by PocketWizard. It's reliability has been suspect all along. As a result, I'm thinking it's time to move on.

I generally have a Speedlite on the camera and will be triggering either another Speedlite or an Alien Bee Einstein.

I don't care so much about the price as much as I want the reliability.

Love to see what everyone else uses. Please only vote if you are happy with the reliability.

I use skyports (external link), they've been very reliable for me, and they're around half the price of pocket wizards. They're lightweight too, so I can velcro them to my flash head. I need two sets, so I bought three, so I had a spare - all equipment will fail eventually.

Yongnuo. Haven't seen any signs of unreliability. Bought 3 thinking if 2 go during a shoot I'm aight. All three going strong after a year.

Cowboy Studio. We'd just bought the house when I bought mine so money was tight. I meant to upgrade to Cactus V5s as soon as I could but ended up not needing them. The Cowboys are surprisingly reliable.

Used to use the ST-E2 but got tired of the misfires outdoors and through doorways. Moved to the PW Plus II's and couldn't be happier.

Me, too, though I have the I version.

Traded in my Cybersyncs for them and am absolutely delighted. No ETTL, but that's okay since I normally shoot M. What I like best is that the transmitter has a hotshoe and ETTL data passes through. This allows you to still use the on camera flash in ETTL and you still get the focus assist beam. That and the price make these the right choice for me.

Exactly why I like my RF-602s.

I use both the PW FlexTT5's and the Quantum FreeXwire systems iaw my specific light requirements for each event. I also use PW plus II's to drive studio lights.
