Just looking to get some CC on this picture (composition, lighting, exposure, etc..) Like I said, I am a newbie so any and all advice is welcome!

This really is a fabulous way to isolate and highlight your subject. I'm not sure you can recover the brighter areas of this image unless perhaps recovery in a RAW editor might permit it. It is overexposed by quite a bit. If you have the luxury of a reshoot I believe you can improve on the floor (table?) detail as well as capturing a more natural look/color of the dog's coat. “Composition can’t be reduced to a set of rules ...
