I like the composition/concept. Perhaps could use a bit of cropping of the black area.
The belly looks a bit blown but not too bad. But the image looks soft - a problem in downsizing?

I'd like to echo all of the above. This really is a fabulous way to isolate and highlight your subject. I'm not sure you can recover the brighter areas of this image unless perhaps recovery in a RAW editor might permit it. It is overexposed by quite a bit. If you have the luxury of a reshoot I believe you can improve on the floor (table?) detail as well as capturing a more natural look/color of the dog's coat.

An image such as this has great potential. I liked the overall look of it immediately when I brought up the thread. It has a very nice feel to it.

Welcome to the forum. Looking forward to seeing more of your work...

Regards,
Mark

Made me smile. Do you have more shots to share?

Cute dog. It kinda reminds me of a miniature Doxie of mine from years ago, Gretchin.

I think the shot is over exposed just a bit. If you shot in RAW, you could reduce exposure by a half stop or so and that would help bring detail back to her(?) tummy area and side of the face.

If you allowed editing of your images, I could show you a quick edit of what I mean...keeping in mind the edit would not be from the original RAW file.
