I just set out the butterflies on a bit of black cloth & shot at 1 sec (manual) and used 2nd curtain synch (or rear curtain synch) on the flash & just moved the camera during the exposure. The ambient light made the trails. how did you keep the light from blowing out the black cloth? Canon XSI w/grip (18-55IS, 55-250IS) & 430EX II. Just now getting back into it!
