Hi there! I'm a complete newbie to photography and have an EOS REbel T3 with the standard kit lens (in addition to being new at this, I'm too poor for new lenses!) I'm currently traveling in Asia and will be attending the magic of Yi Peng this weekend. Does anyone have any tips for getting good photos? I'm getting to learn my manual settings, but I haven't really done much night photography yet, and I don't have a tripod with me. I'm wondering what settings would be best to really capture the beautiful lanterns against the night sky, as well as perhaps capturing people in them as well (with the lanterns being my primary subject!). Any tips would be greatly appreciated, as this is a once in a lifetime experience and I want to get some of the magic on film!
