Anyone tried those Yongnuo $65 flashes on Amazon? I'm thinking about ordering one and wanted to see if it was worth it. The reviews seem ok. I;m not worried about TTL or anything just want a 3rd controllable flash unit to go with my 430 & 420.

I picked up the 560 for the same reason and it works great.

I bought a couple of YN-460 II's from Amazon last year for this same reason. So far for my occasional use they've been great. With good batteries the recycle time is fast. They are simple manual flashes but if that's what you're after I think these are good value for the money.

Yep. They're great value flashes. I bought 2 off of there earlier this year.

Cool, that was another question I had... how long do they last. (not per shoot, but for its life expectancy)

This might be worth a read too, in order to hopefully gain a balanced view of this particular flash:

I was looking at these too, to supplement my 580EX II, but I'm not sure I want to risk it.

I love my 560. It's built extremely well and hasn't failed me. My friend purchased the 460 at the same time, and while it's been good to him it's not built as well.

The YN-560 seems decent for the price. Link to it here on Amazon (external link).

I bought the YN565EX from thephotogadget.com and I gotta say, it's nice. 2 weeks to ship from China to MD. Build quality is nice too. ~ $150
The store is on both amazon and ebay, but I think through their standalone site, it's cheaper.
