I took my SX40 to NYC with me as my travel camera in place of carrying my big gear. I was very impressed with the results. Let me know what you think.

Not necessarily the "best", but a good example of zoom.

Notice the field at the top middle. There is a little finger of pasture off the top right of the field. That is where the elk where in the second picture.

These are the wild elk in upstate Pennsylvania.

I only had a new sx40 a few days after testing it I sent it back it had dark corners on some shots. It took very sharp pics and not so sharp video plus unwanted dark corners in some pics It was bugging me I just couldn't keep it :(

Here's my best shot of my yard dog with sx40 it was cropped.
