ISO Comfort changes with light levels and need,
as well as tripod/monopod, IS lens and speed.
Comfort also changes with post process plug ins and NR.
Not to mention vewing distance and who evalutes
under what criteria.

Just keep it under the speed limit x1000 and only stop
when you see the red light in your rear view mirror.
Kinda a dum question afterall.

This was to btmlinedan.

So you use the in camera settings then. You must be using DPP as well. I have them off in camera and DPP but apply as required in PS.

Well maybe but I have been limiting myself. I don't get a chance at this as often as I would like so when I do go live I don't want to mess up. I can practice all I want but it is a different story when you disappoint someone. Well I really can't practise that much because my wife hates it when I take her picture:) Just wanted to see how comfortable some of the skilled photographers around here are.

This one is at 12,800 and f1.4...yeah it was that dark!

I'm happy to shoot at 3200 all day long, and 6400 when needed in dark churches. But I tend to intentionally err on the side of slight overexposure...

I would shoot a 5D2 at 6400 without a second thought. But... you need to have good exposure control to do so. I've had to practically force my second shooters to crank their 5D2s to 6400 because they were too worried about noise. I never understood why so many people are scared of noise.

So long as the exposure is good, I'm totally comfortable at 4000.

If the exposure is not good, then it is actually ISO 5000, or 6400, etc, if you're shooting RAW. For JPEGs, of course, relative exposure becomes more important.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

ISO 4000 pushed about 2 stops (Yeah, I missed this one...). So I guess about ISO 16000 equivalent?
