Hi Folk,

I try with "Microadjust Software for 5D2". Somewhat in the process, I get 'Erro 70'.

I follow the instruction as the LCD screen and 5D2 Manual: Turn 5D2 on/off; remove and reinstall the battery, and I don't have any luck so far.

Most likely I'll need a quick trip to Canon. But anyone have any tip to save me from this trouble?

Many thanks...

Took the battery, CF Card & lens off for minutes, and put the battery back on.
Something funny happen before the "Erro 70" back on again - Can't turn off the 5D2

Just notice, "Erro 70" will show up on the top LCD panel as soon as I put the battery back, even the power is in off position.

Sometimes electronic gadgets screw themselves up pretty good.

1. Try reformatting the card function.

2. take your card out and try your earlier method.

3. Take all of the items out of your camera and put it in the freezer for a while.

Good luck, I am curious to see how this gets resolved.

just a few of my thoughts...

My guess the assumption from that commenter is the problem is manifesting itself because of heat, and cooling the camera may cause the problem to go away ... so long as the camera is cold.

This error is apparently a sign of a bad memory card or the memory card needs to be formatted. If the CF was used in an older camera like a 30D than this can happen. Format the card within the camera.

A couple things to try:

First, with the battery out and the switch set to Off, turn the switch on, then off. See if that helps to "reset" things using the Date/Time battery current.

Try removing the Date/Time battery (along with the "big" one) and set it all aside for an hour or so. Page 197 of your manual has instructions on removing/replacing the Date/Time battery.

No CF card in the 5D2, the 5D2 still remains in coma.

Thank Tony! just take the battery out now. And I 'll left the 5D2 sit for few hours 1st - didn't reset as I replace both batteries back within few minutes.

2nd though, the cold might kill the remaining batteries power quicker - it's in.

Will let you known if my wife cooks it or not

Will see in next 2 ~ 3 hours, Julian.

Might be the good sign - I can get my 1Dx if this 5D2 is death

Then I have to wait till next March / May

Anyway, just notice my 24L is way off with my 5D2 during manual macro adjustment. Lucky / unlucky this 24L was with 550 / T2i most time.

It's all good. :) Just make sure your 5D II works first. :)
