EOS film body recommendation?

I'd like to find a simple manual SLR body to use for some infrequent B&W film photography. I have a collection of EOS lenses so I'm thinking something that fits those would be good.

Ideal would be a simple manual focus, manual exposure, manual advance body but since EOS is an autofocus lens system, I'm sure the EOS bodies are more automatic than this.

Or should I just look for an old used Minolta / Pentax / Nikkormat / Canon body & lens from the 70's or early 80's?

I have an EOS 5, great film cam for me, but automatic. Some of which can be ignored/ switched off, of course.

But a simple manual film slr with nifty fifty is easy and cheap to come by, so good luck!

Boy, if you have a collection of EF lenses, it just seems natural to get an EOS body. You can switch your lenses to MF and your exposure to Manual. The one thing that won't be fully manual would be the camera communicating the Aperture setting to the lens and the lens automatically setting it -- in the "old days" lenses had their own aperture rings. Sure, you could get an old lens and find an adapter for it...if you really wanted to!

I got a mint A2 for 26 bucks...

The only film camera I paid a lot for was an FTb QL. I HAD to have THAT exact camera as it was a gift for my father(he lost his FTb in college). So I thought it fun at my graduation to give him an FTb.

I found a Nikon EM and 50mm 1.8 for $22 on ebay. That could be sold separately for over $75 probably. There are a ton of deals online for any type of film cameras. People assume because they are old, that they aren't good enough, but some of my best images have come on a nikon fM with a 28mm f/2.8 that I found on ebay 2 years ago.

i'd really like to get nikon f5 as i have some ancient lenses for nikon, however 400+ is way too much for a grins/giggles operation

eos 10 is a great film camera.

Any of which in their day were topline camera bodies with heaps of great features
which can be turned on or off as you desire and you can use all the great range of EF lenses.
