How does everyone feel about umbrella softboxes? I purchased a Promaster version for a good price at my local camera shop. I was wondering what kind of results everyone else is getting with them and if softboxes are really worth the extra money. (assuming I am trying to get as close as I can to the light quality of a softbox)

how about showing your results and any problems you having with them. Softbox is a soapbox. Worth it depends on what you trying to achieve.
