The lower section of my Bogen Monopod Model 3016 is slipping even when the clamp is fully closed. Is there any way to tighten it? Thanks.

You should have a little plastic wrench (that clips to the monopod) that was supplied with the monopod. If you don't, an ordinary 8mm socket wrench or nut driver will suffice. Anyhow - what you want to do is to tighten the nut in the clamp (with the clamp open) a little bit and try it. Don't over-tighten it, however. Adjust it when the clamp is open and then make sure that it closes normally. If you have to really push hard to close the clamp, you've over-tightened it. Skip Douglas

If it did it is long gone anyway. Looking at the locking mechanism, it doesn't look like there is a place where a socket wrench can attach to, it looks more like a pin than a bolt. It hink I will take it to a photo shop here, maybe they know what to do with it. The good news is, I used it today (at the NYC Marathon) and it slips just to the point where I exactly need it to be, then it's snug. It may be that something is wrong with the shaft itself than the clamp. Anyway it still works for me, and I'll worry about it more when the slippage is worse. Pio
