all the gear I had with me: 7D with 70-200mm f4 IS and sometimes 28mm 1.8 on it plus 60D with 17-40 on it all the time. I had my tripod, one flash and one umbrella, used the tripod for some night cityscapes, used the flash/umbrella only once, when my friend decided to show off his cooking skill (he's a chef by profession). I find it easier to just grab a camera then change lenses in the middle of a busy street in India. o, and can swear by the Lowepro backpack now, my gear (and my back) survived an holy cow attack thanks to it.

thnx John. that was my first time there, but I would love to go back, so much to see and people are so interesting and open. sure you get all the tourist crap, but overall I found the country so beautifully complicated.

What kind of tripod do you use? I am just trying to decide which tripod should I choose for travel?

thnx Jasio :)
I'm using those legs (external link) with this head (external link) on. legs are great, light and stable, and the head, well, its my preference, when I'm on a tripod I don't care about speed of adjustments, I want precision, and that head is very precise. purely personal preference :) I'm not sure it's the best setup for travel though, you will probably find legs that can fold better etc. I don't travel so much, so didn't really care.
