Hi guys

Lately I'm getting some pretty strange results when cropping and tilting/rotating photo at same time. This is screen shot of my MBP with Photoshop CS3, and you can see how photo is suppose to be cropped:

IMAGE NOT FOUND
HTTP response: 404 | MIME changed to 'text/html' | Byte size: ZERO

And when I press enter, this is result:

IMAGE NOT FOUND
HTTP response: 404 | MIME changed to 'text/html' | Byte size: ZERO

In case if you don't notice... check snow under skis on first and second photo. It looks like PS does something on it's own, even though mask of crop (first photo) looks fine.
I don't have anything special set in PS, except that I have width (if photo is horizontal) or height (if photo is vertical) set to 2500px. At least not that I would know I have set something, but things were actually working normally before. Now I really need to watch for result, and when on dead line, checking and possibly recropping takes unnecessary time.
So I would appreciate if someone has any idea how to make PS produce exactly same crop as I set.

PS: In case if it maters, this is happening on Macbook Pro with MacOSX 10.5.8 and with Photoshop CS3 (10.0.1).

Thanks for help,
Primoz

You entered dimensions in the crop tool? If so: Don't.
Crop first, resize later.

Damn... yes I do have dimensions entered in crop tool. Based on discussion on link you provided, it looks like I'm not only one with this problem...

There has been a bug in Photoshop for the last 4 or 5 version that will distort the image if you crop rotate and change resolution.

workaround is to not do this.

do it in 2 steps crop then resample.

Same problem in last 4 or 5 versions? Good that we don't pay for such buggy software... oh wait a sec... I actually did pay a bit over 800eur for this, yet they still don't feel like fixing something so obvious in 4 or 5 versions??!!! Beautiful!
Anyway... thanks Rene for your help. I would like it better of course, if there would be some other solution not just "don't do it", but what the hell... at least I know I can't do it this way. So thanks again ;)
PS: Does anyone know if this was maybe finally fixed in CS4 or 5? This would be feature worth enough for me to pay upgrade...

Tried my version of PSCS4 and the trial of PSCS5, and both seem to work as they should.
YMMV.

Arghh and here goes another 300eur... while our work is getting cheaper and cheaper every new day.
Oh well... enough complaining :) Thanks again Rene for this info. I really appreciate your help :)

Try before buying ;)
Advantage of PSCS5: 64 bit on OSX.

The new user interface might require a bit of time to get used to though.
