selling a photo

OK...I am not a pro by any means....but...

I took a picture of a very old and historic home that operates as a Bed and Breakfast.They want to "buy" a picture I took to make post cards for their guests.

I have no idea what to do, and would love some advice.....


Gear-Canon 60D, Canon rebelXSi, Speedlite 430EX II,Gary Fong lightspehere, 28-135 IS, 55-250 IS, 18-55 kit, 50mm, Manfrotto 391rc2, Studio lighting.

I would sell it to them but you just need to ask yourself what you think its worth (thats the hard part)

Perhaps you could ask them what their 'budget' is and factor that into what they might realize in profits from postcards, calendars, etc.

They don't want to "buy" the picture, what they want is to "license" your image for commercial use.

look up fotoquote and give them a quote for exclusive license for one year with a print run of say, 5 thousand.
