A little rust, a little wear and a little tear.....they are getting harder and harder to find.

I like it. Nice shadow side detail, too!

I don't like the shot. Color is off, oversaturated. White balence is off. Yellow on cigarband is greenish. Obviously too much Photoshop.

Don't hold back now, just say what you really think!

I also don't mind it. I look at it from a different angle and things like white balance or colour being slightly off does not worry me, I find it an interesting piece of machinery that we do not get over here.

These locomotives have turned literally from red to pink to purple. Inorder to get the red that is shown in the photo one must really change things. My wife and I take a trip each year to shoot the BNSF transcon in western Oklahoma. The one thing we dread is an older ATSF 600-699 in the lead as they are not even close to red in color. Also in shooting trains the light should be totally opposite to what is in this shot. Being rare in your area does not forgive not giving the shot justice.

Please explain how I can make the sun set in the east so the light is on the correct side of a northbound train.

Can't say that I've ever seen a purple Warbonnet......but there certainly are lots of spots of peeling and faded to pink.

With the way they run trains through nowadays, we get to see ATSF in Baltimore all the time now. It just amazes me to see this stuff in person! If i ever post, I'll try to make sure I'm on the right side of the track when I spot the train coming from nowheres. ;)

I'm reminded of the day my mother gave me my avatar camera to take to school & she said, "Be sure that the sun is behind you when you take a picture."
Hopefully you'll grow out of that someday. ;)
