Is it possible to buy Screwlock PC sockets for DIY project use (preferably in the UK)? I have looked everywhere I can think of, but can't find anyone supplying them.

I have found non-Screwlock PC sockets (Kaiser brand), but I don't want non-Screwlock! They must be available somewhere or no one would be able to manufacture the various accessories that are clearly available online using these sockets.

My intention is to modify a 540EZ to have its own sync port. I don't want to use non-Screwlock as the rest of my set-up is Screwlock, and I don't want to use 3.5mm mini jack socket for the same reason.

I have been looking at the hot shoe adapters with sync ports built in, but those look as if they will mount the flash too high on the umbrella adapter, unless someone could tell me otherwise.

Any suggestions?

Thanks very much

Mike

Check the Bay out for an old flash gun with the required port maybe?

Unfortunately anything with the Screwlock PC socket is going to be expensive and cost a lot more than the flash I intend to modify. Also I'll be needing at least three of these sockets, so things could get out of hand!

Not UK but may help out if you get stuck. Or maybe try a camera repair shop such as http://www.hlehmann.co.uk/3.html (external link)

Thanks for the links. Those eBay ones appear to be non-Screwlock, but well done for finding them because I didn't come across those when looking for the ones that I am after!

I've just found them available individually on UK eBay from Colinsfoto for £2.25 plus 79p postage. Not quite what I wanted, but I might have to go for non-Screwlock if I can't find Screwlock.

I'm in two minds about that though as people often complain about non-Screwlock, so it makes the mini jack socket option look more worthwhile.
