I was in a pawnshop looking around and they had the original digital rebel and this lens for 249. They wouldnt sell just the lens, I figure I can get them down at least 20-30 bucks. Is it worth picking up?

msowsun "approx 8mm" More info | Nov 03, 2011 21:35 | #3 $249 is pretty cheap. You could sell the Digital Rebel for about $100 and then play with the 28-200 for awhile. It is only sharp part of the time, and has in my opinion poor color reproduction Canon 40D gripped • Canon 300D Gripped • Tamron 17-50 f2.8 • Sigma 70-200 f2.8 • Canon 28-200 f3.5-5.6 · Canon 50mm f1.8 •

Just get a used 55-250mm IS for about $150 and get a sharp lens with IS. Yep, that's much more like it. Think new Canon lenses are overpriced? Lots (and lots) of data will set you free!

You could probably get enough for an 18-135 IS which is a pretty decent lens. (And incedentally roughly 28-200mm equivalent on APS-C) Taylor
