If I had to guess? 1DX.

Maybe they will call it the Canon 1CX :) Engadget has an article on this thing. (external link)

Here are some pics:

that cinema lens looks so crazy on there :)...dpreview lists the estimated lens prices as $6,800 for the primes each...and $45,000 for the zooms:shock:

also the SLR is in development...who knows what that really means...i mean where's the 200-400L that was in development...

Lot of photos on Canon Rumors: http://www.canonrumors.com/ (external link)

The zooms are about $47,000 and the primes are about $6,800.

Red ring in the front isn't good enough anymore. You want the red ring in the BACK now!

People are dismissing the Cinema DSLR, but with a full frame sensor, new technology, and only a 4K resolution, it could be a very serious low light performing camera as long as you don't need to print huge.

You know, they really are, even for cinema lenses. I was just comparing to the Zeiss PL glass at B&H and the Zeiss is way cheaper.

Zeiss doesn't have a 300mm, but the do make a 15-45mm T2.6, in EF or PL mount, and it's "only" 29K at B&H.

The Zeiss Cinema primes in PL or EF mount are about $4k each, not $7k.

pretty much...i mean i know the 50L is a pretty big lens...but it looks tiny on that cinema SLR, and the cinema lens looks like a monster like your pic

If you guys think photography is expensive, wait until you get into cinematography. The hobby/trade/work/profession makes photography gear seem so cheap.

I have a couple friends who work down in Hollywood as Cinematographers, Focus pullers (Follow Focus) and lighting grips. They all get the inside scoop about upcoming technology and they don't even blink at the price of these lens.

Must be nice to have a production studio with millions of dollars in lighting, cameras and huge back lots. :D

I'd love to rent that 85mm for a day. 11 aperture blades.. almost like an old brass lens.

Wow, nice

i thought they were just Manual Focus and video-optimized versions of the 24mm f/1.4, 50mm f/1.2 and 85mm f/1.2 but i guess i was wrong

Wonder just how good are these primes are

These cinema primes are priced well beyond my budget. But, anyone else catch Vincent Laforet's quicl blog note on the lens?

http://blog.vincentlaforet.com …he-c300-c300pl/#more-6434 (external link)

These lenses have the potential to be very disruptive… but until I see one I’m just speculating… but based on the zoom lenses below… Canon has the potential to shake up the lens world if their prime lenses are as good as their Zooms…

For the price they want for them, these lens better perform better than the cheaper L primes and 3rd party EF lens that are available. Otherwise, why not save money and buy the cheaper L primes and 3rd party lens instead?

Cinema...dslr?

Why not just make it an HD camcorder?

I sort of understand why not make it a camcorder from reading up on video work, but I have no real interest in that area however ....

It will be interesting to see this new camera up close.

What would be different from a photographic DSLR? Controls? Control layout? Firmware?

Mirror/Shutter setup?

Is it purely for video work, of can it shoot stills?
