Hello,
I am in a market for a boom arm and tripod for my hair light and some top light project.
It will be my first boom arm so I am not looking for a cadillac here.
Just something sturdy that will last me a long while without paying too much.

I was looking at this Adorama boom arm with a tripod which is pretty basic with good review.

Does anyone here have any feedback on this one?

Thank you

To be honest, I am totally biased on this one. I can only recommend the Bowens:

Yes, it is exquisite and very expensive, this is the one that I hope to get just after Xmas.

The one that you have indicated seems like really good value - I just don't have any experience with that particular one.

On the Adorama site the 'Worst Review is pasted here:
"... Works fine for lighter flash units. Plastic parts could break with heavy use. Would not recommend for heavier strobes and large boxes. Good for the price though ..."

"... with a clear perspective - the confusion is clearer ..."

Thank you for that suggestion but it's way out of my budget for a boom arm.
I wonder if there's something with the metal connector for a decent price.

Maybe there is an independent company that specialises in providing attachments to lighting stands, c-stands, tripods and other studio-based equipment.

Get up and running with the Adorama kit then hunt around for additional or replacement attachments.

Try this website:

I am sure others will advise alternatives too.
