A friend of mine needed some photos showing fall colors in the leaves and stuff outside so I walked around my school for about and hour and took these as a way to hopefully get out of what she originally wanted which was for me a climb a high tree to take photos of the leaves... and yea i dont want to break my neck and camera climbing a tree for a photo of a leaf lol

here are a couple i got that i like from my walk around campus today

#4 reminds me of a similar one I took just a few days ago of our Japanese maple because both have the branch curving across a one-third horizontal of the frame. In my case it was not a conscious decision at the time.

However, when I reviewed the series later in Canon's Digital Photo Professional, that branch made that photo stand out from most of the others I took. It's the old thirds rule, and while it can be a cliché, the branch placement really does make the composition. To me it give a rhythmic flow across the image.

It was also a reminder how educational it is to compare multiple photos at once on the much larger computer screen (compared to the camera's LCD) to discover what did and and did not work.
