My new colleague is into aviation photography....from the air. He's taken shots for most of the US Military and I cannot believe how good some of his shots are.

If you get a chance to check them out, Rick's site is www.dash2.com (external link).

I definitely plan on being his assistant the next time he goes for a shoot if he'll let me. Taking shots from the back of a C130's open gate... insane.

Name is Peter and here is my gear:
Canon 5D II, Canon 7D, Canon 40D
Glass - Zeiss 21 f/2.8 ZE, Canon 35 f/1.4L, Canon 40 f/2.8 STM, Canon 24-70 f/2.8
L, Canon 85 f/1.2L II, Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS II, Canon 500 f/4L IS
Speedlite 580ex II, 430ex - Gitzo GT-3541XLS w/ Arca B1

I've only checked his top 10 & a few others but he's talented with a great seat. I'll be spending more time exploring his site as the weekend goes by.

Some of his stories about when he flies in the gunner seat of a fighter are pretty funny. Pilots telling him "I'm the important person in this cockpit. Don't touch the eject handles since I won't turn around to get you"

That second shot on his top 10 is him turning his 5D to take a snap of himself. Right before he hurled.
