The need to carry the MacBook Air without an additional bag was overwhelming, so I just ordered the Domke 701-84B F-804 Super Satchel (Black) with the Post Office Shoulder Pad and the 720-230 insert.

Thank you all and especially Jon for keeping an eye on this thread. I'll let you know how it works out after a while.

Update

So far I have had two F-804's shipped and returned due to a defect which is under investigation by both Amazon and Domke. They want to know if the bags are genuine with a manufacturer's defect , no inner band of velcro to hold inserts in place, or if they are well made knock-offs without the velcro.

Since they have pulled the F-804's sold by Amazon from the "shelf" until the mystery is solved, I have ordered a F-7 Double AF bag. Here's hoping there is nothing wrong with it.

Last week I ordered and returned F-804 from Amazon. It was was missing the velcro. A friend bought one a year ago or so (also from Amazon) and that one did not have the velcro, either. I know for a fact F-804 should have the velcro - I handled one at B&H some time ago.

I doubt it's a knock-off. More like quality control or "silent improvement" at Tiffen. They are badly run company. E.g. that could not be bothered to update the the pictures or information on their website. E.g. all the new inserts (for like 1.5 years or so now) are supposed to have movable walls, but their webpage still shows the old crapola ones.

Amazing. Well, all I can tell you is that the F7 came with everything, but the bottom board, so Amazon sent me one for free after confirming with the manufacturer that it was supposed to be included.

Thanks for posting. My review of the bag is way overdue.

Few years ago I used to have F-7 and sold it in favor of F-802, but I am thinking about getting it again.

Question: did yours come with the new style inserts with movable inner partitions? A couple of pictures would be terrific! Thanks.
